“As families of victims killed in the “war on drugs,” we appeal for the help of the international community in the expedient arrest of Senator ‘Bato’ dela Rosa, so that he will stand trial for crimes against humanity at the ICC,” saad ng open letter.
“The former Philippine National Police Chief was principal implementer of Duterte’s Operation Plan Double Barrel, exercising a pivotal role from the beginning of the notorious “war on drugs.” He derided human rights, promoted “watchlists” and “tokhang,” praised “nanlaban” stories, and fueled police operations that resulted in widespread and systematic killings and other crimes in poor communities,” saad ng liham.
“We ask your help in convincing President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to arrest and surrender Sen. “Bato” without delay, and to ensure that all co-perpetrators with warrants of arrest are likewise surrendered to the ICC,” saad nila.
“President Marcos should assure the international community that crimes against humanity will not find a haven of impunity in the Philippines. Our search for justice and accountability, as families of victims of extra judicial killings, led us to the ICC after years of impunity and denial of justice in our own country,” saad ng open letter. /Bistado
