Isinusulong ang P5.088 bilyong 2027 budget ng Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) para maituloy ang affordable housing, subsidized financing at iba pang shelter programs ng gobyerno.
Dinepensahan ni Iloilo City Rep. Julienne Baronda, vice chair ng House Committee on Appropriations, ang pondo ng DHSUD at attached agencies nitong Miyerkules sa plenary deliberations.
Target ng shelter agencies na pababain ang housing need ng bansa mula 3.77 milyong units sa 1.13 milyon pagsapit ng 2028 sa pamamagitan ng direct at indirect housing programs.
Kabilang sa strategy ang vertical at horizontal developments, rental housing, enhanced community mortgage program, incremental at high-density housing, presidential proclamation sites at temporary o modular shelters.
“Guided by the vision of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., and pursuant to Executive Order No. 34, the housing sector adopted a more inclusive, beneficiary-centered, and multi-modal housing strategy—recognizing that no single housing solution can address the diverse needs of Filipino families,” ani Baronda.
Sa Iloilo City, mahigit 80 porsiyento na ring kumpleto ang Iloilo City People’s Residences sa Barangay Tabuc Suba, Jaro.
Target makinabang dito ang teachers at informal-sector workers na apektado ng infrastructure development projects. /Bistado
