Batay sa Asian market prices at foreign exchange movements hanggang Huwebes, tinatayang tataas ng P10 hanggang P10.50 kada litro ang diesel, ayon kay Jetti Petroleum president Leo Bellas.
Ang gasolina naman ay posibleng madagdagan ng P4.50 hanggang P5 kada litro.
Mas malaki ito sa oil price hike ngayong linggo na P4.69 kada litro sa gasolina, P5.18 sa diesel at P5.58 sa kerosene, batay sa Department of Energy (DOE).
“Oil prices surged higher after attacks in the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea, the region’s two most important oil transit routes, further deepened supply disruption worries,” ani Bellas.
Tinukoy din niya ang attacks sa East-West pipeline ng Saudi Arabia na nagresulta sa shutdown ng mahalagang alternative oil route sa Strait of Hormuz at nagpalala sa pangamba sa global energy supply.
“Escalating tensions in the Middle East, a top supplier of diesel and crude oil grades best suited for diesel production, and attacks in refineries in Russia, which is another major diesel supplier, have pushed prices to record highs due to mounting concerns of severe product flow constraints and tight availability,” sabi ni Bellas.
Sa Asia, nananatili ring pataas ang gasoline prices dahil sa matatag na regional demand at pangambang lalo pang maipit ang supply mula Middle East dahil sa hostilities sa Red Sea.
Nauna nang nagbabala ang DOE na maaaring magpatuloy ang pagsirit ng oil prices dahil sa Middle East crisis.
Tiniyak naman ng ahensya na nananatiling lampas sa regulatory requirements ang domestic fuel supply at patuloy ang subsidies para sa qualified beneficiaries gaya ng public utility vehicle drivers. /Bistado
