Umabot sa P40.06 million halaga ng illegal drugs ang nasabat ng awtoridad sa nationwide operations mula June 18 hanggang 25, ayon sa Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
Sa pahayag nitong weekend, sinabi ng PDEA na 110 suspects ang naaresto sa 83 operations na isinagawa sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa.
“These accomplishments reflect the commitment of PDEA, the Philippine National Police, and other law enforcement agencies in protecting our communities from the threat of illegal drugs. Every successful operation in the cities, ports or remote areas strengthens public safety,” sabi ni PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez.
“We will continue to intensify intelligence-driven operations and sustain our efforts in support of the Bagong Pilipinas campaign for a safer and drug-free Philippines.”
Sa mga naaresto, 76 ang identified as drug pushers, habang 19 naman ang alleged possessors.
Haharap ang lahat ng suspects sa charges sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 9165, o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Kabilang sa mga nasabat ang 3,574.91 grams ng shabu, 72,240 piraso ng marijuana plants, 9,899.13 grams ng dried marijuana leaves, 2,800 piraso ng marijuana seedlings, at 5.18 grams ng marijuana kush.
Ayon sa PDEA, nasa government custody na ang mga nakumpiskang items para sa forensic examination at ihaharap bilang ebidensya sa court proceedings. /Bistado
