Marami ang nagbibigay ng kanilang opinyon sa latest award o recognition na ipinagkaloob ng House of Representatives sa all-girl group na BINI.
Sa pamamagitan ni Representative Javier Miguel “Javi” Benitez ng 3rd District ng Negros Occidental, muling pinagkalooban ng ‘commendation’ ang grupong BINI nang dahil pa rin sa na-achieve nila sa COACHELLA music festival kamakailan.
Nag-file nga si Benitez sa House of Congress ng House Resolution (HR) No. 930, “which sought to congratulate BINI for recently making history as the first Filipino pop group to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2026.”
“Participation in the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is considered a major milestone for artists, as it signifies global recognition, cultural influence, and entry into the international mainstream music industry,” saad ng nasabing commendation ni Cong. Benitez, na minsan na ding naging ‘artista’ noon ng ABS-CBN sa ilang mga series.
Ayon pa sa post ng Kongresista sa kanyang FB tungkol sa nasabing citation, “their performances weren’t just a win for the fans, it was a massive milestone for our creative industries and a masterclass in bringing OPM (original Pilipino music) to the global stage.”
Ayon pa sa post ni Benitez, kinukunsidera at pinaplano nilang i-include ‘explicitly’ ang music bilang “commercial industry under the Philippine Creative Industries Development Act (PCIDA),” dahil sa potential ng naturang sektor na makatulong sa ekonomiya at turismo ng bansa.
Si Benitez ang chairman of the House Special Committee on Creative Industries sa kasalukuyang 20th Congress.
Noong April 10 at 17, 2026, ay nag-perform ang BINI sa Empire Polo Club sa Indio, California, sa loob ng 45 minuto kung saan sila well-applauded ng audience.
Lubos na hinangaan ang mga production number nila gaya ng mga kilalang P-pop anthems na “Pantropiko”, “Karera”, at “Salamin, Salamin”, as well as the debut of their single “Blush”.
Binubuo ang BINI nina Maraiah Queen Arceta also known as “Aiah”, Ma. Nicolette Vergara A.K.A. “Colet”, Mary Loi Yves Ricalde A.K.A. “Maloi”, Gweneth Apuli A.K.A. “Gwen”, Lindtsey Stacey Aubrey Sevilleja A.K.A. “Stacey”, Mikhaela Janna Lim A.K.A. “Mikha”, Jhoanna Christine Robles A.K.A. “Thoanna”, and Sheena Mae Catacutan A.K.A. “Sheena”.
Sa kabilang dako, may mga sektor ding pumapalag sa tila “immature” umanong mga recognition na ibinigay sa grupo na hindi daw nagawa ng gobyerno, in this case mula sa parehong Senado at Congress sa mga nauna sa BINI na maglagay ng mapa ng Pilipinas sa buong mundo.
“Is this early campaigning for the politicians? Why didn’t they do the same to such great groups and individuals who even scored wider success than BINI. From the likes of Lea Salonga, Joana Ampil, Rachel Ann Go, Cecile Licad, Marcelito Pomoy, Olivia Rodrigo, Apl de Ap, John Arcilla, Jaclyn Jose, to SB19, Sofronio Vasquez at yung mga ibang indibidual daw na hindi ganun ka-popular subalit nagbigay din ng “massive” na honors para sa bansa.
“Grabe naman kung patulan ang media-hype na iyan. Of course proud tayo bilang mga pinoy sa ganyang achievement, pero bakit nga ba hindi nila iyan ginawa sa mga nauna o ibang grupo o tao na kung tutuusin ay mas higit pa ang na-achieve?,” tanong ng netizen.
