Umabot sa record na P147.15 billion ang dividend remittances ng Government-Owned or -Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) ngayong taon, 29 percent na mas mataas kumpara noong nakaraang taon, ayon sa Department of Finance (DOF).
Pinuri ni Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go ang mga GOCC sa 2026 GOCCs Day sa Malacañang, kung saan kinilala ang 50 GOCCs para sa record remittances.
“As our economy continues to grow, our GOCCs remain vital partners in turning national assets into national progress. Every dividend they remit strengthens the capacity of the government to invest in the future of the Filipino people,” sabi ni Go.
Sa kabuuang P147.15 billion, P140 billion na ang na-remit sa national government, habang inaasahang maibibigay ang natitirang balanse bago matapos ang taon.
Ayon sa DOF, mahalagang source ng non-tax revenues ng national government ang GOCC dividends, na tumutulong pondohan ang priority programs ng administrasyon.
Sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 7656 o Dividend Law, kailangang mag-remit ang GOCCs ng hindi bababa sa 50 percent ng kanilang net earnings noong nakaraang taon bilang dividends sa national government.
Para palakihin ang non-tax revenues at palakasin ang fiscal position ng gobyerno, hiniling ng DOF sa GOCCs na itaas sa 75 percent ang kanilang remittances.
Kabilang sa top 15 contributors ang Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Land Bank of the Philippines, Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation, Manila International Airport Authority, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, Philippine Ports Authority, Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation, Bases Conversion and Development Authority, Clark Development Corporation, Philippine Guarantee Corporation, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Philippine Economic Zone Authority, Maharlika Investment Corporation, Philippine National Oil Company, at Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines.
Gagamitin ang dividends para palawakin ang investments sa infrastructure, education, healthcare, at iba pang programang nagtutulak ng inclusive economic growth at mas magandang kalidad ng buhay para sa mga Pilipino. /Bistado.
