Hindi isinasara ni Defense Secretary Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro Jr. ang posibilidad na muling sumabak sa halalan sa 2028, pero wala pa siyang desisyon kung tatakbo para sa national post.
“There will be a point where I’ll have to make a decision on what to do,” sabi ni Teodoro sa Saturday News Forum.
Aniya, hindi pa matitiyak ngayon ang political at security situation pagdating ng 2028.
“I’ll cross the bridge when I get there, and I’ll weigh whatever is best for the situation I find myself in,” aniya.
Dumaan na si Teodoro sa national elections matapos tumakbo at matalo sa pagka-senador. Sinabi niyang magiging mas maingat ang anumang susunod niyang desisyon.
“I’ve been there and I’ve done that before. So probably the calculation I have to make is a little bit more knowing now, and more pragmatic and more careful,” sabi niya.
Ayaw rin niyang magsalita nang tapos na hindi na siya tatakbo.
“I’ve said before that no more this, no more that, but it turns out some other way,” ani Teodoro.
“Look, I ran for senator, didn’t make it, find myself here, find myself in this situation. So who knows what will happen?” dagdag niya.
Kung haharap sa panibagong kandidatura, titimbangin umano niya kung gusto niya ang posisyon, may maiaambag siya at makatotohanang magagampanan ang tungkulin.
“If it’s something doable, that’s the most important thing,” sabi niya.
Inihiwalay naman ni Teodoro ang anumang posibleng 2028 political plan sa kanyang kasalukuyang trabaho sa Department of National Defense.
Sa ngayon, hindi muna siya magdedeklara.
“I think there will come a time I will have to come to grips with what I want to do and what I have to do,” ani Teodoro. /Bistado
