Sinabi ng Philippine National Police (PNP) na “conscious and coherent” si dating Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel Bonoan matapos isugod sa PNP General Hospital sa Camp Crame dahil sa pagtaas ng blood pressure matapos siyang maaresto.
Si Bonoan ay inaresto kaugnay ng graft at plunder charges sa umano’y anomalya sa government flood control projects.
“Based on the latest assessment of the PNP Health Service, he is currently conscious, coherent, and oriented. He has no complaints of headache, dizziness, or any immediate distress at this time,” ani PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.
“He remains under close observation by the hospital’s medical team and continues to receive appropriate medical attention. Necessary diagnostic procedures are being undertaken to further guide his treatment and ensure comprehensive care,” dagdag niya.
Ayon kay PNP Health Service director Brig. Gen. Portia Manalad, “slowly improving” ang kondisyon ni Bonoan matapos mabigyan ng anti-hypertensive medicine nitong Martes ng umaga.
Nauna nang sinabi ni Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla na umakyat sa 192/100 ang blood pressure ni Bonoan matapos ang processing sa Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, kaya siya dinala sa PNP General Hospital.
Kahit naka-confine, nananatili ang custodial protocols at security measures habang nasa ospital si Bonoan.
“The PNP… confirms that security measures and custodial protocols remain in place throughout his confinement at the hospital,” ayon sa PNP.
Tiniyak din ni Remulla na may full security detail si Bonoan at limitado ang access sa kanya.
Si Bonoan, Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, at dating DPWH officials Denryl Caesar Cortuna, Manny Bulusan, at Arturo Gonzales ay nasa government custody na matapos maglabas ang Sandiganbayan Fifth Division ng arrest warrant laban sa kanila sa non-bailable plunder case.
Sina Bonoan, Estrada, at isa pang co-accused ay na-process sa CIDG headquarters sa Camp Crame, habang ang dalawa pang co-accused ay sumuko sa Sandiganbayan.
Maliban kay Bonoan, nailipat na sa New Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory sa Payatas, Quezon City ang lahat ng akusado.
Ayon kay Manalad, nakadepende sa attending physician ni Bonoan at sa CIDG kung kailan siya maaaring ma-clear para iharap sa Sandiganbayan at ma-commit sa jail. /Bistado
