Itinalaga ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. si Joey Sarte Salceda bilang kalihim ng Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO), na tututok sa pagsusulong ng legislative agenda ng administrasyon sa Kongreso.
Babalik si Salceda sa gabinete matapos ang halos dalawang dekada. Una siyang itinalaga bilang Presidential Chief of Staff noong 2007.
Bago pumasok sa gobyerno, nagsilbi siyang research director ng multinational investment firms na UBS, SBC Warburg at ING Barings. Kinilala rin siyang Best Analyst sa Asia-Pacific noong dekada 1990.
Anim na termino siyang nagsilbi sa House of Representatives, kung saan pinamunuan niya ang mga komite sa Appropriations, Ways and Means, Economic Affairs, at Trade and Industry.
Nakilala rin siya bilang resident economist ng Kamara.
Kamakailan ay kinuha siya ng Supreme Court bilang amicus curiae sa mga usapin sa pambansang badyet. Nagsilbi rin siyang unang Asian co-chair ng United Nations Green Climate Fund, delegado sa World Trade Organization at adviser ng Incheon Metropolitan City government.
Bilang gobernador ng Albay, pinangunahan niya ang mga programa sa disaster risk reduction at climate change, kabilang ang Zero Casualty Doctrine. Siyam na taon din siyang chairman ng Bicol Regional Development Council.

And with precious time and enduring support for the President in Congress, I humbly accept the immense challenge of passing the remaining major items of the President’s policy agenda,” ani Salceda.
Nais din niyang magsilbing tulay ng Pangulo sa private sector, academe at civil society.
“I also hope to serve as a bridge of the President for the wisdom, talent, and insight of the private sector, the academe, and broader civil society,” aniya.
Kabilang sa mandato ni Salceda ang pagbabago sa PLLO para maging policy office ng Pangulo.
“The mandate given to me is to reform and transform the PLLO into a genuine policy office of the President. This administration has been uniquely open to the best ideas from the people. I humbly invite the country’s best minds, especially young people, to share with us your time, your talents, and your energies towards this undertaking,” sabi niya.
Dumating ang appointment bago ang State of the Nation Address at pagsusumite ng panukalang pambansang badyet, habang humaharap ang bansa sa mga hamon sa pandaigdigang ekonomiya. /Bistado
