TACLOBAN CITY – Balik face-to-face classes nitong Lunes ang San Jose National High School sa Tacloban City, dalawang linggo matapos ang fatal incident na sangkot ang minors, na ikinasawi ng tatlong learners at ikinasugat ng 20 iba pa.
Ayon kay Department of Education (DepEd) Tacloban schools division information officer Nilo Eder, kailangan nang maibalik ang klase ngayong linggo upang unti-unting maibalik ang normalcy matapos ang traumatic experience ng learners noong June 22.
“This will be a gradual return of face-to-face classes since emotional healing is ongoing. In the past two weeks, we have been preparing teachers, students, and even the school’s physical environment,” sabi ni Eder.
Para sa safety at well-being ng learners at personnel, nagpatupad ang DepEd Tacloban ng ilang hakbang katuwang ang Tacloban City government, Philippine National Police (PNP), barangay officials, parents, alumni, non-government organizations, at business groups.
Kabilang dito ang psychological first aid at psychosocial support services, dagdag na closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, pagkumpleto ng perimeter fence, walk-through metal detectors, dagdag na security personnel, mas mataas na police visibility, at improvements sa school facilities.
Ayon sa DepEd, magpapatuloy ang psychosocial interventions at wellness activities kahit nagsimula na ang klase upang tulungan ang learners at school personnel na harapin ang emotional effects ng trahedya.
“Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez has organized a special program featuring guest performers at the school on Monday as part of efforts to promote healing through music, art, and other activities,” dagdag ni Eder.
Ang dalawang classroom kung saan natagpuan ang mga nasawing estudyante ay nirepaint na at hindi muna gagamitin para sa klase. Gagawin na lang itong stock rooms o office ng school personnel.
Sa statement nitong Lunes, sinabi ng DepEd Tacloban na ang reopening ay simula ng recovery ng paaralan habang inaalala ang mga biktima.
“The resumption of classes signifies not that we have forgotten what happened, but that we are courageously taking the first steps toward restoring normalcy while honoring the memory of those we lost,” ayon sa statement.
Patuloy ding ipinagluluksa ng division ang mga estudyanteng nasawi, ipinagdarasal ang paggaling ng mga nasugatan, at sinusuportahan ang kanilang pamilya at buong school community.
Ayon sa DepEd, lahat ng 20 injured students, kabilang ang tatlong na-admit sa intensive care units, ay nadischarge na mula sa hospital confinement nitong Linggo. /Bistado
