Mahigit 350 dayuhang delegado ang darating sa Pilipinas para sa 10th Senior Aerobic Gymnastics Asian Championships sa Agosto 4 hanggang 7 sa Tagaytay City Velodrome.
Ang mga kalahok na haharapin ng Pilipinas ay magmumula sa Vietnam, Japan, Korea, India, Mongolia, Cambodia, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan at Thailand.
Ang mga paglalabanan ay sa indibidwal na kalalakihan at kababaihan, mixed pairs, trios, groups, aerobic dance, at aerobic steps. Tampok ang mga kategoryang youth (edad 12-14), junior (15-17), at senior (18 pataas).
Ang India ang may pinakamaraming kalahok na may 50, sinundan ng Vietnam na may 45 at ng Pilipinas na may 43.
Ang apat na araw na torneo ay inorganisa ng Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) at inihahatid ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC). Ito ay may basbas ng World Gymnastics at Asian Gymnastics Union.
“We have wanted to stage this event for some time and we are proud to say that we finally have it. Aerobics is not only an exercise. It is also a competition,” ani GAP president Cynthia Carrion.
“I cannot promise anything because the other countries are really good,” sagot ni Carrion nang tanungin kung ano ang inaasahan niyang magiging resulta ng kampanya ng Pilipinas.
Umaasa sila kina Arcenio Cadios at Charmaine Dolar, na nagkamit ng pilak sa mixed pair event ng 33th Southeast Asian Games sa Bangkok, Thailand noong Disyembre 2025, pati sa women’s trios na binubuo nina Dorothy Grace Asuncion, Danielle Grade at Princess Johana Pama.
Ang 10th Senior Aerobic Gymnastics Asian Championships ang ikalawang malaking world tournament na inihahatid ng GAP at PSC, sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Chairperson Patrick Gregorio matapos ang Junior World Artistic Gymnastics Championships noong Nobyembre 2025.
“Through this Championship, I believe that the city locals and the whole nation are one in bringing Asian sport to new heights and inspire all Asian athletes to celebrate discipline and push their boundaries of excellence,” ani Carrion.
“Sports unites people. Sports is like music. Memories come back. This is also in line with PSC chairman thrust in hosting international sporting events to boost sports tourism.”
