Sumulat si Batangas 1st District Rep. Leandro Leviste kay Sen. Erwin Tulfo para ipaalam na may impormasyong nais niyang ipresenta kaugnay ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee investigation sa flood control projects controversy.
Si Tulfo ang kasalukuyang chair ng Blue Ribbon panel matapos ang Senate shakeup noong June 3.
Sa liham na may petsang June 5, pinasalamatan ni Leviste si Tulfo sa pagtutulak ng imbestigasyon sa flood control projects.
“I would like to present information relevant to this at your earliest convenience. I would appreciate being informed by your office if this may be possible,” saad ni Leviste sa liham na ibinahagi sa media ng opisina ni Tulfo nitong Monday.
“I remain available to assist in any investigation on flood control projects and other projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways,” dagdag niya.
Binanggit din ni Leviste na sinubukan niyang kunin ang contact details ni Tulfo sa kanyang ina, si Sen. Loren Legarda, pero hindi umano ito naibigay.
“In full disclosure, I have been asking my mother to share with me your contact details, but she has not, so I am sending this to your email address from the official Senate website,” saad ni Leviste.
Lumabas ang liham kasunod ng kontrobersyal na hearing ng kampo ni Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano sa DPWH flood control projects.
Sa hearing na iyon, iginiit ni Legarda na siya pa rin ang Senate president pro tempore.
“We have never clung to any position, but I am here to show that we are present and that I have not resigned from my position,” ani Legarda.
Nakasentro ang bagong development sa tanong kung sino ang lehitimong hahawak ng Blue Ribbon Committee matapos ang leadership dispute sa Senado.
Sa ilalim ng bagong alignment, si Tulfo ang itinalagang chair ng Blue Ribbon panel. Pero iginiit ni Sen. Pia Cayetano na siya pa rin ang chair ng komite.
Nauna nang dumalo si Leviste sa Blue Ribbon hearing noong January, noong si Sen. Panfilo Lacson pa ang chair ng panel.
Nauna ring sinabi ni Leviste na hawak niya ang tinatawag na “Cabral files,” o budget documents na aniya ay nakuha niya mula sa yumaong DPWH Undersecretary Maria Catalina “Cathy” Cabral.
Ayon sa mga ulat, ang files umano ay nag-uugnay sa ilang high-ranking officials, kabilang ang mga Cabinet secretaries, sa alleged 2025 infrastructure budget insertions. /Bistado
