Isasalang sa summary dismissal proceedings ang pulis na inaresto kaugnay ng madugong barilan sa isang resort sa Maragondon, Cavite na ikinasawi ng kapwa niya pulis at isang civilian.
Nangyari ang insidente bandang 1:30 ng madaling araw nitong Miyerkules, August 12, matapos umanong dumalo ang mga sangkot sa birthday celebration ng bagong talagang Maragondon police chief.
Ayon sa Philippine National Police (PNP), dalawang pulis ang umano’y nagkaroon ng barilan habang lasing. Patay ang isang police officer at isang civilian, habang sugatan ang isa pang pulis na nasa stable condition na.
Naaresto sa lugar ang isang pulis na nakatalaga sa Trece Martires Component City Police Station.
Iniutos ni PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. ang patas at masusing imbestigasyon para matukoy ang criminal at administrative liabilities ng mga sangkot.
“Law enforcers carry the heavy burden of public trust, and throwing caution to the wind through reckless behavior and alcohol abuse is completely unacceptable. Those sworn to protect lives chose instead to endanger them in a senseless, drunken altercation,” ani Nartatez.
Sinabi ni PNP spokesperson Col. Allen Rae Co na inaalam pa ng mga imbestigador kung ano ang pinagmulan ng barilan.
“Meron kautusan to conduct a thorough investigation as well as start the summary dismissal proceeding. Kailangan po naman ng due process lahat dito so inutos ng ating chief PNP na ang masusing imbestigasyon para malaman natin kung ano talaga ang nangyari at kung may kailangan managot ay mananagot,” ani Co.
Bineberipika rin kung sino ang dumalo sa gathering, kung awtorisadong naroon ang mga off-duty police personnel, at kung bakit kasama sa lugar ang nasawing civilian.
Isasailalim sa pagsusuri ang mga nakuhang baril. Ikukumpara rin ang recovered bullets at slugs para matukoy kung aling armas ang ginamit.
“All the firearms will be subject to paraffin examinations. We will compare it to the recovered slugs para malaman natin who is who and which is which,” sabi ni Co.
“All came from the birthday of the Chief of Police of Maragondon. All were drunk and carrying their service firearms with them. One thing led to another,” ayon naman kay Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla.
Agad na sinibak sa puwesto ang Maragondon police chief at inilagay sa Cavite Police Holding and Administrative Support habang iniimbestigahan ang insidente.
“I remind all our personnel to exercise discipline, responsibility, and restraint at all times. We will not tolerate misconduct, regardless of rank or status. Being off duty does not exempt any police officer from following the law and PNP rules,” ani Nartatez. /Bistado
