Tinamaan ng magkahiwalay na cyber threats ang websites ng Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) at Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), habang napatunayang false positive ang iniulat na ransomware attack sa Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), ayon sa Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
Kinumpirma ng DICT Cybersecurity Bureau nitong September 7 na tumutugon ang National Computer Emergency Response Team (NCERT) sa unauthorized access sa DMW website at web defacement sa DOLE.
Matapos matukoy ang unauthorized access sa DMW website, nakipag-ugnayan ang DICT sa Management Information Technology Service (MITS) ng ahensya at nagsagawa ng on-site technical response.
Agad na nagpatupad ang joint technical teams ng access-control hardening at system isolation habang nagpapatuloy ang forensic investigation at system recovery.
Sa DOLE naman, inabisuhan ng DICT ang IT administrators matapos matukoy ang unauthorized modification sa web host. Agad na ini-isolate ang apektadong node habang nagpapatuloy ang digital forensics at restoration.
“Initial technical assessments confirm that no sensitive databases or Personally Identifiable Information (PII) were compromised,” ayon sa DICT.
Pansamantalang isinara ang mga apektadong web services ng DMW at DOLE bilang precautionary measure habang tinutukoy ang sanhi ng mga insidente, pinatitibay ang seguridad at inihahanda ang ligtas na restoration ng serbisyo.
Samantala, walang nakitang ransomware activity o system compromise sa PPA matapos imbestigahan ng NCERT ang report ng umano’y ransomware attack.
“During a subsequent technical assessment, joint logs with the agency’s designated focal personnel verified that the report was a false positive, confirming that no ransomware activity or system compromise occurred within PPA infrastructure,” pahayag ng DICT.
Patuloy ang imbestigasyon, mitigation at recovery efforts ng DICT at mga apektadong ahensya. Sinabi ng departamento na maglalabas ito ng karagdagang verified technical updates habang nakukumpleto ang recovery milestones. /Bistado
