Umabot sa P77.78 million halaga ng iligal na droga ang nasamsam ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) sa sunod-sunod na operasyon sa buong bansa mula May 14 hanggang May 21.
Ayon kay PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez nitong Sunday, nagsagawa ang ahensya ng 78 operations sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa sa loob ng isang linggo.
Sa mga operasyon, 85 suspects ang naaresto.
“This week’s accomplishment report is a testament to the unwavering commitment, dedication, and bravery of our operatives on the ground,” ani Nerez sa statement.
Dagdag niya, tuloy ang kampanya ng PDEA laban sa illegal drugs, mula airport interceptions hanggang drug den operations at marijuana eradication sa malalayong lugar.
“From intercepting illegal drug shipments at the airport to dismantling drug dens and eradicating marijuana plantations in remote areas, we are proving that no corner of the country is beyond the reach of law enforcement. We will continue to intensify our anti-drug operations until every community is freed from the threat of illegal drugs.”
Narekober sa mga operasyon ang 9,596.85 grams ng shabu, 12,257.32 grams ng dried marijuana leaves, 41,520 fully grown marijuana plants, at 12,120 marijuana seedlings.
Ayon sa PDEA, pinaniniwalaang nakalaan ang mga nasamsam na droga at tanim para sa distribution sa iba’t ibang drug networks sa bansa.
Sa 85 naaresto, 58 ang kinilala bilang drug pushers, 11 bilang possessors, at lima bilang alleged drug den operators.
Nahaharap ang mga suspect sa kaso sa ilalim ng Republic Act 9165, o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Ayon sa PDEA, nasa government custody na ang mga nakumpiskang item para sa forensic examination.
Ihahain din ang mga ito bilang ebidensya sa court proceedings laban sa mga nasangkot sa illegal drug activities. /Bistado
