May bagong award-giving body ang industriya ng pelikula, telebisyon, social media at mga larangan sa sining at siyensya.
Ito ang PAFTA o ang Philippine Arts Film and Television Award na nagbigay parangal sa mga natatanging movies, TV shows and performers, individuals and groups na nasa sining at ibang larangan ng media at sciences.
Big winner si Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto na pinarangalan bilang Showbiz Icon of Phil, Cinema. Pinapurihan ang Star for All Seasons dahil sa kanyang kontribusyon sa showbiz at TV, at sa patuloy niyang pag-evolve bilang legendary at iconic actress, ang kanyang inspirasyon, relevance at impact sa mga bagong sibol na mga manonood sa mga naturang media. Bukod pa diyan ang pagiging isang mahusay niyang public servant bilang Governor sa Batangas. Tinanggap ng kanyang kumpare-Publicist na si Ambet Nabus, ang naturang award dahil may nakasabay at naunang commitment si Ate Vi noong awards night ng PAFTA.
Posthumously ay binigyan din ng parehong karangalan sina National Artist Nora Aunor at movie queen Gloria Romero. Ang anak ni ate Guy na si Ian de leon ang tumanggap ng award ng Superstar, habang si Ara Mina na isa sa mga program hosts noong gabi ang nag-receive sa ngalan ni Ms. Gloria Romero.
